The accused woman in question is Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani and she reportedly confessed to collaborating to kill her husband in 2005 and disowned her attorney.
Tehran suspended her stoning sentence after rigorous international campaigns by human rights activists but there are now concerns that she would be killed. However in another twist, Ashtiani who is 43 years old had said in the past that she was tortured to admit committing adultery.
The woman had been convicted of having improper relations with 2 different men after her husband died in May 2006. Her sentence of 99 lashes has already been carried out.
She was found guilty of committing adultery while her husband was alive and given a death sentence through stoning. She later claimed that her reported confession was as a result of being torture from the Iranian police.
The new video showed the woman admitting to taking part in her husband’s death. She also discredited her lawyer for making the case an international one and causing her disgrace.
Ms Ashtiani’s attorney - Mohammed Mostafaie has left Iran and seeking exile in Norway.
