Iowa man charged with being a felon in possesion of a firearm

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (BNO NEWS) – An Iowa man on Thursday was charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, prosecutors said.

The charges allege that in December 2009, Clark possessed a 20 gauge shotgun and ammunition. The indictment also alleges Clark had three felony convictions for Third Degree Burglary in Iowa in 2004 and 2005.

If convicted, Clark faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years imprisonment and a possible maximum life sentence, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and 5 years of supervised release following any imprisonment.

This case is the result of an investigation by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office.
