Interior Minister to suggest pre-emptive government resignation
July 11th, 2008 - 3:09 pm ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiInterior Minister Police Captain Chalerm Yubamrung commented on the Opposition Party and a group of Senators seeking to remove the government while giving policy to village elders in Udornthani province. The minister said that he has considered a solution which he will present to the Prime Minister. Police Captain Chalerm plans to have the government resign preemptively and prompt a new vote by the Parliament. He expressed confidence that the PM would be re-elected.
Afterwards the minister spoke about the salary adjustment which village elders have requested to be 10,000 baht, up from 5,000 baht. Police Captain Chalerm said if he had the authority he would increase the salaries to 12,000 baht.
