Information about Labor Day 2010 parades and other activities

New York, Sep 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Today is Labor Day and festivities are in the air. Even though the recent economic upheaval and the recession have hit the workers hard, yet there are numerous parades and activities planned for the day and here are the details of some of them.

Thousands of locally based members of the workers union will be marching through the streets of St. Louis to mark the Labor Day parade, which occurs every year.

The source of the parade will be the 13th and Olive Street and it will start at 9 am. The destination of the parade will be 15th Street and the union members will walk through Tucker Street and the St Louis City Hall to get to the final destination of the parade.

There will be another parade by the workers union in Granite City, which will begin at 10 am at the State and 20th street. The parade will proceed to the Wilson Park through the Madison Avenue. Union members and their families will have a picnic after the march.

Belleville will be the starting point of a third parade, which is scheduled to begin at 10 am.

A total of 40 labor unions will march in the company of their families through the city. The march will take them through the Category Grade School parking space located at the South Second and Monroe Streets. The destination of this parade will be the Hough Park.
