Thousands of American Indians in the US are disappointed by the Clinton loss in the Democratic presidential candidate bid. Clintons large support base among the Indian Americans started shifting towards both Obama and McCain shortly after she announced she would be endorsing Barrack Obama on Saturday.
The Indian American community traditionally has been supporting Clinton and it has been a disappointed a lot over Clinton giving up on the presidential race
The shift in loyalty is immense in key States of New York, New Jersey and California, where Indian Americans live in sizable numbers. These States were won handsomely by Clinton during the primaries early this year.
According to millionaire Sant Chatwal who is a hotelier the Indian Diaspora is not very happy with the turn of events. Chatwal has been one of the key supporters and fund raiser for Clinton. ”She has been a great friend of India and Indian Americans. We are very loyal to Clinton,” he said. However, many of the die-hard supporters of Clinton have already decided to vote for the Republican McCain instead.
