obama1 Even as the protest against the controversial immigration law in Arizona gains momentum with time, the governor of the state Jan Brewer refuses to budge from her stand on implementing the law.

A recent meeting she had with President Barack Obama failed to resolve the stalemate. The situation may land the president and the democrats in tight spot and if the White House fails to resolve the issue it will go in favor of the republicans.

Recently the Arizona governor went to meet the US president but the meeting was not much successful. The White House officials however said that the meeting was successful.

The US president Barack Obama said in his statement that the states of USA need to reach a conclusion on immigration reform policy for the betterment of the nation.

However, he did not succeed in making the governor of Arizona see eye to eye with him despite his best efforts. Jan Brewer admitted the importance of immigration law reform but also said that nothing is more important than securing the borders, an issue which has been plaguing Arizona for decades.

She went to the extent of saying that her state will resist the federal intervention to thwart the new immigration law from being implemented.

She also hinted that Arizona will not shy away from a legal confrontation with the federal government if it is needed. President Barack Obama is among the detractors of the law. He is facing problem in resolving the immigration issue and the meeting did not succeed much.

The Arizona governor also referred to the online polls that favor the law.
