PORTLAND, OREGON (BNO NEWS) – An Idaho man was arrested Wednesday by Oregon State Police (OSP) for possession of marijuana, local authorities said.

Jeffrey Bullington, 48, from Boise, Idaho, was found carrying over 4 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Highway 20 about seventeen miles east of Burns, Oregon.

An OSP Patrol sergeant and OSP Fish & Wildlife trooper stopped a 2007 Chevrolet pickup with Idaho license plates on March 24 after a regular traffic violation.

Further procedures led law enforcement officials to discover that Bullingtion, who was driving the pickup accompanied by his dog, was carrying nearly 4 1/2 pounds of marijuana concealed in a pet carrier in the pickup’s open bed. The seized marijuana has an estimated value of $12,000.

Bullington was taken into custody without incident and charged for unlawful possession and delivery of marijuana. His dog was taken to a local veterinary clinic for safekeeping until it could be released to someone.
