Hurricane warning issued for Bermuda as Igor nears - NHC

BERMUDA (BNO NEWS) — The Bermuda Weather Service on Friday afternoon issued a hurricane warning for the island as powerful hurricane Igor nears the British overseas territory.

Igor, with maximum sustained winds near 185 kilometers (115 miles) per hour, is located about 1070 kilometers (665 miles) south-southeast of Bermuda. “Tropical storm conditions are expected in Bermuda by late Saturday, with hurricane conditions expected on Sunday,” said forecaster Todd Kimberlain at the Miami-based National Hurricane Center.
