Miami, Sept 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US National Hurricane Center in Miami announced on Tuesday that Hurricane Katia has weakened back to Category 3 storm. The storm grew briefly to a Category 4 storm on Monday.

The Hurricane Center announced that the storm is currently traveling at a speed of 125 miles per hour. The storm is expected to show fluctuation in strength over the next few hours. Meteorologists forecasts that the storm will move away from the US coast in the coming weeks.

On Tuesday, the Hurricane Center announced that the storm was located 400 miles south of Bermuda. The storm was moving northeast on Tuesday morning and the forecasters predict that the storm will be unpredictable in the immediate hours because of the wind conditions.

The story isn’t too good for residents living in the South as well. In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Lee, storm watchers say flash floods may hit some of the parts worst affected by the storm.

Roads have been flooded and falling trees have led to about 200,000 people living in the dark. The US is expecting a very busy storm season in 2011. Lee claimed the life of at least one person when it struck the South over the weekend.
