May 05 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Since the attempted bombing of New York City’s busy Times Square by Pakistani Native/American Citizen, Faisal Shahzad, people have began to wonder, who is the wife of this admitted terrorist? As the news about the suspect unfolded, it was revealed that he had a wife and two children, so naturally, curiosity about the wife started to surface.
As most everyone knows by now, Shahzad was born in Pakistan, lived here in the US for a number of years, had a wife, two kids, and a beautiful Connecticut home, and seemed to be living the American dream. Seeming to be a classic case for citizenship, Shahzad passed all of the requirements to become a United States citizen in April of last year. Sounds like a very good case for allowing more immigration freedoms, does it not? But sadly, the story did not end there.
Shahzad chose to return to Pakistan, train in the construction of bomb making, and come back to the US. All of this was very easy for an American citizen. He then attempted to make a bomb (which failed, thank God) and drive it into Times Square in New York. He parked the SUV containing the bomb, and left it, hoping to kill hundred of innocent Americans. He now faces five charges related to terrorism and attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. But who is the aforementioned wife?
Huma Mian is a 28 year old woman who grew up in America- in Colorado to be exact. She graduated from Boulder, Colorado’s University of Colorado with a degree in accounting, and seems to be very much in favor of the American lifestyle which her husband allegedly tried to destroy. On her profile on Orkut.com, Mian says her passions are “fashion, shoes, bags, SHOPPING!!” Isn’t Times Square a great place to go shopping…?
The FBI are not investigating Mian, stating, “She’s not in Colorado as far as we know,” he said. “We’re not looking into anything here.” She has not been implicated in any way for the actions of her husband, and the FBI says that it does not look as if she has lived in the Denver area since 2005. The home which she and Shahzad shared with their two kids is for sale, and under foreclosure, and it is suspected that she is in Pakistan with their children.
