London, Mar 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) One very lucky lobster has been saved to live another day. The massive creature was caught in Britain and officials have taken the creature to an aquarium.

The animal weighs more than 4kg and reaches a length of almost a meter. By its size, scientists estimate that the animal might be 50 years old. Lobsters are among the crustaceans with exceptional life span. They can grow to more than 80 years.

The Blue Reef aquarium in the southern English town of Portsmouth is where the lobster is going to be kept. Lindsay Holloway of the aquarium said that, “He’s a fantastic specimen and by his size alone he has got to be at least 50 years old. He is an amazing creature and it’s quite an achievement to have reached such an impressive age.”

The animal was captured by a sole angler. He caught the animal in Bracklesham Bay which is off the coast of West Sussex.

This is not the heaviest lobster captured. In 1934 a massive lobster named Mike was caught in the Atlantic. The animal weighed an incredible 19kg. Lobsters are one of the oldest surviving creatures on the planet having survived for about 100 million years.
