HSN introduces QR codes in their home shopping model

Washington, Oct 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) HSN has announced that viewers will be able to purchase products right from their television set with the introduction of QR Codes for its TV programming. The company however admitted that it will take time before its customers will get to know how to use the service.

The service will begin on Friday and the QR Codes will help the customer locate products at the fastest possible time. It will also ensure that viewers will actually buy their products via HSN.

EVP of digital commerce at HSN, Jill Braff, told reporters that they are aware of the challenges in getting the viewers to use the service. Braff however assured that the company has figured out a way to overcome the challenge.

He said that, “It reminds me when TV studios were putting SMS codes on movie posters, and people didn’t know what to do with them. We’ll explain step-by-step how to get the mobile reader on air and on our website … We’ll also answer call-in questions and questions on our Facebook Page.”

The program will be on-going for four days and the company says they will use the experience in those days to test the viability of the service.
