A couple from Houston chose the Houston marathon to exchange marital vows. Molly Johnston and David Upton took part in the Chevron Houston Marathon race which took place on Saturday. They started the race as girlfriend and boyfriend and when they crossed the finish line they did that as a couple. They tied the knot at mile 16 where a number of friends and family members were present. They paused adjacent to a waterfall to get married. The bride said that it was her sister who came up with the idea first. They are happy that their plan executed the way they wanted and everything went off smoothly.

The groom David Upton joked that since they had dated each other for several years a marathon wedding seemed the appropriate thing for them. The marathon had 15000 contestants. The bride was wearing white dress and had a long veil in her hat. The groom wore a black shirt. The parents of the couple said that even though it was a crazy idea they did not find anything wrong as the couple is very much in love. The bride’s mother Anita Westermann, said “They’re good people and I think they’re going to be very happy together”.

The venue of the unusual wedding was the Williams Tower water wall. Both of the couple are used to running and they did not quite the marathon after exchanging the wedding vows. They tied the knot and ran for 10 more miles to finish the marathon. For them it was a re ruin of the proverb “All’s well that Ends well”!
