Nov 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) No other race can offer a treat sweeter than Hot Chocolate 15K which was in Chicago. This is because, the conclusion of this race is marked with a chocolaty ceremony, with lots of hot chocolates, particularly Ghiradelli hot chocolate.

The race started at 8:15 A.M in the morning. The race started at Grant Park, west side of Columbus north of Roosevelt Rd. The pace of the race was marked as 7 minute-13 minute. It took the runners through the most visually appealing places of Chicago, first heading towards Lake Shore Drive in the south, then moving towards the north after the 4.5 mile mark, to enjoy the Lake Michigan, which looks spectacular during the autumn. After the next 9 mile mark, the runners twisted their way to Shedd Aquarium, and then again moved towards the north, in order to reach the starting point, Grant Park once again. Unlike other races, this one was filled with fun and frolic for the entertainment of the runners during the course of the race. The course entertainment spots were located at miles 4 and 8. It also had four aids station in its course, with the provision of medical support and rest rooms at four locations. Each of these aids stations provided water and Gatorade. However, nothing was better than the after race effect, as a lip-smacking cup of hot chocolate awaited each of the runners at the end point.

Approximately 30,000 chocolate lovers from different places, gathered to Grant Park to participate in the event. After the race was over a very cordial and family friendly environment delighted the participants with the chocolaty treats. The fund collected from this event went for charity purposes at Ronald McDonald House Charities, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training and Pass With Flying Colors.
