snap London, Mar 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) New style hospital gowns have been unveiled in Britain, that snaps at the sides, in an apparent bid to protect the dignity of the patients. The new gowns were showcased on Tuesday, and they are all set to replace the earlier hospital gowns that were embarrassing for the patients, as they could pop open at any moment. AVM survivor Shalon Whitglob has designed these gowns.

Several designers were awarded 25,000 pounds, and asked to design such hospital products that would maintain the dignity of the patients, and at the same time make their hospital stay comfortable too. The Design Council and the British government had put the designing plan in motion, in an apparent effort to better the British oft-criticized health system.

Fashion designer Ben De Lisi made a dress, which consisted of a striped hospital gown, made with high quality cotton in the timeless pajama-stripe pattern. This dress also has a pouch to keep the mobile phones. “Fine feathers make fine birds,” said de Lisi, who has also designed dresses for many Hollywood stars. “If you look good, you’ll feel good. Patients in hospitals are at their very lowest ebb, and you want them confident and buoyant so they can ask doctors the questions they need to ask.”
