Hollywood, SC man sentenced for firing twice at pursuing officer

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA (BNO NEWS) – A Hollywood, South Carolina man was sentenced to ten years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm, prosecutors announced on Tuesday.

Chancler D. Brown, 25, has an extensive criminal record, including a conviction for assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature so he is prohibited to possess a firearm.

In December 2008, Brown ran from a policeman during a North Charleston investigation. He shot twice at the officer, he missed both times. He continued to flee and eluded capture. The next day he was arrested at a trailer, where he was hiding. The law agents found the gun under the couch.
