Phoenix, June 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With chance of the state of Arizona implementing the tough immigration rule on people who have migrated to the state from other places illegally by the end of July, reports claim that many Hispanics are leaving the state.
Reportedly, Hispanics are leaving Arizona to settle in other states that do not have any such immigration rule. David Castillo, the founder of the Latin Association of Arizona has said to a media source that Hispanics are “leaving to another state where they feel more welcome”. The schools as well have seen a drop in the number of Hispanic student enrollment in the current year.
Though the exact number of people who have left the state is not yet known, initial data collected from school, residents and business establishments suggest that hundreds of Hispanics are leaving the state before the anticipated law enforcement by the Arizona state.
Jeffrey Smith, the Superintendent of the Balsz Elementary School District has revealed to a media source that while the enrollment of students in the school was recorded 2,773 before the signing of the immigration law, it has now dropped to 2,678. Many Hispanics have closed their businessmen establishments and have also left residential areas.
While many people in United States are criticizing the move of the Governor of Arizona, many others who live in the state are supporting the move. According to many, the sudden move of the large number of Hispanics proves the fact that there were many illegal immigrants living in the state.
The new law will need the police to conduct regular traffic stop and ask people of their immigration status and locate people who are leaving illegally in the state.
