Harold Camping bewildered that the world didn’t end on the 21st of May
May 23rd, 2011 - 8:55 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, May 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Harold Camping’s prediction of the doomsday on the 21st of May failed to come to pass. When Camping came out with the doomsday prediction, many people dismissed it as a hoax.
Camping and his followers at the Family Radio International were convinced but after the day passed without any incident, a board member of the organization has told ABC News that Camping is “bewildered” that his prediction failed to come true. The interview was carried out on Sunday – a day after the doomsday was supposed to take place.
The board member, Tom Evans told viewers that Camping might not offer anyone an explanation concerning what might have been the reason why the world didn’t end as he claimed. Relaying what Camping’s wife had told him, Evans said Camping might not release any statement or make any public comment on the incident on Monday.
Evans is not convinced that Camping should stay quiet. During the interview, he admitted that the organization owes the whole world an apology for making such a prediction which turned out to be false. This is not the first time that Camping’s prediction of the doomsday has failed to come to pass.
In 1994, a similar doomsday prediction did not come to pass. Critics say Jesus was emphatic that no man will be able to predict the doomsday.
