Sep 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is a well known saying that money is not something that can buy happiness. However a new research publishes in the National Academy of Sciences says the opposite is true! The emotional well being tends to rise with the income up to a level the new study has revealed. Those who can earn $75000 do feel happier than others while those who earn below that level do not feel elated. The Center for Health and Wellbeing of Princeton University researchers carried out the study. Angus Deaton and Daniel Kahneman were the two key persons involved in this research. It was conducted in 2008 and 2009.
However the research does not necessarily indicate the more a person earns the happier he feels. If a person earns more than $75000 it may not make him happier but definitely makes him feel that he is leading a better life. If a person gets job with better pay package he also gets an enhanced taste of success. However, that extra income does not boost their daily happiness as such the researchers say. The research is definitely important because Daniel Kahneman is a Nobel winner psychologist.
Of course there are some people who are skeptical about the findings of the study. The degree of happiness derived from income level also varies from one place to another according to the study. The study on mental happiness and its link to income was also supported by the National Institute on Aging and the Gallup Organization. The study has created sensation among the psychologist community.
