Oct 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Halloween is a time for festivity and merriment for all. Children wait for this time of the year and try to make the most out of it. In many households people also try to get the pets involved in the fun. The pets are often made to wear scary and crazy costumes following the trend of the occasion. Some people forget that not all kinds of pets enjoy Halloween the same way. Some breeds of dogs and cats do get stressed by lots of strangers running around and making noises in the house which can make them stressed out and annoyed to an extent.
If the cats or dogs in a household get stressed by the fun and frolic during Halloween it would be a good idea to keep them away from the visitors and kids. The kids love candies meant for the occasion but they are not good for the pets in general. Some types of candies made in this time can prove to be harmful for animals and chocolate also does not go well with their system. Apart from that the cover used for wrapping the chocolates and candies can prove to be fatal for the pets if they swallow it.
There is no harm in dressing up one’s cat or dog in a Halloween costume but one should ensure that the pet is not getting suffocated in it or feeling uncomfortable. Some animals do end up injuring themselves when they do not feel okay with the costume and try to get it off their bodies. The owners should ensure the pets stay safe when they enjoy the festive season.
