Gunmen attack pilgrims in western Pakistan, 7 killed

QUETTA, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) — At least seven people were killed after a group of gunmen stormed a transportation company in western Pakistan, local media reported Friday.

The attack occurred against a group of pilgrims that were waiting to travel from Quetta, in Pakistan’s province of Balochistan, to Taftan, which borders Iran, the Express Tribune reported.

Among the killed were two Uzbeks and one Iranian national, officials said. In addition to the fatal victims, 12 others were injured during the attack. Police arrived and are currently carrying out investigations, but officials said the attack could be sectarian violence.
