Gunman shoots two Pentagon police officers
March 5th, 2010 - 3:02 pm ICT by BNO NewsWASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — Two Pentagon police officers were injured when a gunman opened fire at the building’s Metro Entrance on Thursday, authorities said.
The incident happened at approximately 6.40 p.m. EST when an unknown suspect opened fire. Two Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) officers were injured and transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. The suspect was also injured when the officers returned fire, but his condition was not immediately released.
All Pentagon entrances were secured for a brief time after the incident but were quickly reopened with the exception of the Pentagon Metro entrance.
The Pentagon said the incident is currently under investigation.
