Guilford, CT man sentenced for role in narcotics ring

NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT (BNO NEWS) – A Guilford, Connecticut man on Wednesday was sentenced to three years of imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release for his role in a narcotics ring of New Haven County, prosecutors announced.

Robert Kalman, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine in November 2009. Kalman was arrested along 16 other individuals as a result of an investigation, called “Operation Brass Deal”, conducted by the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force. During the operation, more than one kilogram of cocaine, 750 grams of crack cocaine, and approximately $75,000 in cash were seized by the agents.

Kalman was found responsible for distributing 300 to 400 grams of cocaine throughout the New Haven area from January 2009 to May 2009. The defendant also has multiple criminal prosecutions in Connecticut.
