Great Dane gives birth to 17 puppies via a Cesarean section
March 21st, 2011 - 7:43 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattWarsaw, Mar 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Hania, the four-year old Great Dane gave birth to seventeen little puppies by cesarean section in Warsaw, Poland.
The owner of the dog wanted to save Hania the pain of extended labor while giving birth to 17 puppies, so she took her to a veterinary hospital where the puppies were delivered by cesarean section.
The puppies are nine females and eight males and are being nursed by their mother and another dog to assist exhausted Hania.
The dog’s owner, Gabriela Kubalska has set a comfortable place for her dogs at her house to look after them. According to Gabriella, this is her first set of offspring.
Another bizarre canine birth took place in Germany in September when a Rhodesia Ridgeback also gave birth to 17 puppies.
