Google Doodle Sports “Thumbelina”

San Francisco, April 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Once a thumb sized girl and now a popular Google Doodle. Thumbelina which happens to be one of the most sought after fairy tale creation of Hans Christian Andersen has found her way in Google Doodle on the eve of Hans Christian Andersen’s 205th birthday.
Today Google is depicting various pictorials out of Hans Christian Andersen’s stories besides “Thumbelina.” As we all know that Hans Christian Andersen’s 205th birthday is also regarded as International Children’s Book Day. Google like every other time has thus moved on to depict various pictorials extracted from the classics of Hans Christian Andersen.
Among all other tales of Hans Christian Andersen, “Thumbelina” seems to be one of the most popular stories that depict the journey of a thumb sized girl and her love with flower fairy prince who happens to be just the same size as that of the thumb girl. The creator of “Thumbelina”, Hans Christian Andersen is the most celebrated author of Denmark who has gifted all children of the world with fascinating and exciting stories like “The Snow Queen”, “The Steadfast Tin Soldier”, “The Ugly Duckling,” “The Little Mermaid” and “The Little Match Girl”. This year Hans Christian Andersen Award is being given away with much fanfare following the author’s 205th birth anniversary. This time British author David Almond has been selected to receive the Hans Christian Andersen award for his works like “My Dad’s a Birdman” and “The Savage.” Besides “Thumbelina,” Google Doodles is also decked up with pictorials from “The Princess and the Pea”, and “The Snow Queen” which are also one of the best out of the author’s master mind.
