Glenn Beck, the American radio and television host and a conservative public commentator who had been pulled into controversies quite recently regarding his “racist” comments over the US President Barack Obama, is paying the price for his alleged declaration.
According to the sources, it has been reported that more and more of advertisers are pulling out of sponsoring his previously widely watched Fox News television show. The campaign against Beck has been reportedly headed by an organization called “Color Of Change”, a black political coalition.
Although a reportedly dejected Glenn Beck arrived at the show on Monday, still he refrained himself from commenting on the alleged “advertiser boycott” over his show that is aired on Fox News channel. Beck, who had earlier gave a statement in the month of July saying that Obama has a “deep seated hatred for the white people or for the white culture” did not utter a word regarding the much controversial advertisers pull out from his show, which is regarded as an aftermath of his alleged comment against the President, whilst he termed the US President Obama as a “racist”.
Although, the conservative public commentator did not hush abut the advertising issue, he did not shy away from his usual controversial statements though. Launching a week-long series called “The New Republic: America’s Future”, Beck opened the show by encouraging his viewers to tell their friends to watch the show with a “pen and paper” as he will be asking “reasonable questions at unreasonable times”.
Beck also accused the Obama administration of planning “to spend its way out of debt”.
Becks show reportedly opened with 36 fewer advertisers. Clorox, a company said in a statement that the company does not want to be associated with “inflammatory speech used by either liberal or conservative political hosts”. Feeling the heat Mr.Beck?
