Gaffney Serial Killer Suspect Patrick Tracy Burris Killed

patrick tracy burrisPatrick Tracy Burris, the man who has been identified as the ‘Gaffney serial killer’ has been reportedly shot to death by the police of North Carolina today. The Cherokee County Sheriff, Bill Blanton stepped up to the podium to confirm his death. The sheriff announced that the suspect, who allegedly killed five people in the Cherokee County, has been shot dead by the police in a Monday morning shoot out in Gaston County, N.C.

Although the details are yet to be revealed, the sheriff stated that the nightmare that was haunting the residents of Gaffney has finally come to an end.

According to sources, the 41 year old suspect, Patrick Tracy Burris has been described to have a criminal record with a rap sheet at least 25 pages long.

Burris, was reportedly killed by three Gaston police officers in a shoot out. The suspect had reportedly pulled a gun out, aiming at the officers. The officers responded by shooting back at Burris, thus killing him. Two officers were injured in the shoot out.

Investigations revealed that the suspect was using the same weapons that were involved in the Cherokee County killings. It was also revealed that Burris was present near the crime scenes that occurred in the Cherokee County. Moreover, the Ford sport utility vehicle found in Gaston County matched with the one seen in Cherokee County.

The police are still investigating to find out Patrick’s link with the five murders that shocked the Cherokee County. It has not been revealed that whether Patrick was a citizen of Cherokee County or not. The officers said that they would have liked the opportunity to drag Burris to the court. Many questions regarding the shoot out still remains unanswered but it seems that the nightmare for the residents of Cherokee County is finally over.
