Gabrielle Giffords’ Aide Gabe Zimmerman Killed In Arizona Shooting

Tucson, Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Gabe Zimmerman, a friend and a dedicated aide of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was one of the 18 victims of the Arizona shooting which took place in Tucson on Saturday morning. He was one of the six people who lost their lives due to the mass shooting. Gabe Zimmerman, 30, was associated with Gabrielle Giffords since the latter’s earliest point in her Congressional career. The aide who lost his life carried out the responsibility of a community outreach director, a position which led him to organize event including that one held on Saturday. During the shooting incident, Gabrielle Gifford was shot in the head and was admitted to a medical facility in a critical condition.
Gabe Zimmerman has been described by his friends and colleagues as a gentleman and a tireless organizer. The U.S Representative’s aide was known to have tremendous energy as well as apt skills to deal with people of different backgrounds. One of Gabe Zimmerman’s long time colleague, Tom Zoellner said that the aide was an author and a volunteer in Gabrielle Giffords’ campaign. Gabe Zimmerman’s father, Ross Zimmerman describes his son as gifted person who had the perfect ability to manage teamwork. Gabe Zimmerman was a sociology graduate from Pima Community College and then completed his masters in social work from Arizona State University.
Gabe Zimmerman is survived by his father, Ross Zimmerman, mom, Emily Nottingham, and a brother Ben Zimmerman. The news of his death along with the five other victims of Saturday’s shooting incident has come as a rude shock to their families as well as people across the nation. Jared Lee Loughner, the 22-year-old suspect in the incident has been taken into custody.
