French President Sarkozy addresses train crash in Brussels
February 16th, 2010 - 1:07 am ICT by BNO NewsPARIS (BNO NEWS) – French President Nicholas Sarkozy on Monday expressed his condolences and support to the people in Belgium after a train crash left at least 18 people dead.
“I want to send you, on behalf of the people of France, as well as on mine, my sincere condolences and support between our two countries during this event”, said President Sarkozy in a letter sent to Belgium King Albert II.
“I want to express to the victim’s families as well as the injured people my sympathy during these dramatic circumstances” the French President added.
On early Monday, at least eighteen people were killed and dozens more were injured when two passenger trains collided head-on in the Belgian city of Buizingen, near Brussels.
