As President Bush hailed Senator John McCain as the best chance the Americans have, the GOP convention saw Fred Thompson give a speech that was soundly applauded. Fred and McCain gave the convention a shot in the arm as they raised the stakes the republicans have with sound advice and promising rationale to the American community. In his speech Fred Thompson hailed the Republican nominee and his running mate Sarah Palin who has so far stoked controversy due to her intricate and blemished life. Thompson praised Sarah Palin and said that she was ample and a good chance for the American women to contribute in the American development.
The former Tennessee senator branded Democrats as elitists. He praised John McCain and Senator John McCain’s running mate, Mrs Palin, 44 dubbing her as the beacon of ordinary American values. Thompson hit out at the media criticizing it for lacking a basic policy and its extreme lack of discipline in projecting Palin as a pillar of the society. Thompson told the convention that “She is from a small town, with small town values, but that’s not good enough for those folks who are attacking her and her family,” Palin’s daughter, Bristol, is pregnant and has been hyped on the American media as symbol of an irresponsible motherhood by her mother.
His lash on the media and the democrats rekindled hopes and spirits of the millions of republicans who had nearly caved in due to bad hype and negative publicity. Thompson was what the republicans needed in such a tough time.
