Nov 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Four buildings of Ohio State University were under emergency mode on Tuesday when FBI informed that the officials received a bomb threat e-mail. The officials, students and all the people who were in the university were scared and concerned about each other’s safety though the campus was locked down after the bomb scare. The four buildings of Ohio State University include McPherson Chemical Lab, Smith Laboratory, William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library and Scott Laboratory.
After FBI alerted everyone, the Ohio State University officials issued safety alert and asked everyone to stay away from those buildings. The public safety officials of the university along with FBI and the Columbus Fire Department bomb squad continued to investigate the whole matter and searched for the bomb in the campus. A source close to Ohio State University reported that the FBI headquarters received an email early Tuesday morning which stated that dangerous explosives are placed on the four buildings of the university. However, after investigation the officials came to a conclusion that the email was fake and they opened the university again at 5 p.m.
However, the people were so much scared that three streets around Ohio State University campus were also closed as a safety precaution. Vernon Baisden, assistant vice president and director of public safety of the university said in his statement that the university puts its “highest priority” on the safety of their faculty, students and other stuffs. Though the police has not yet revealed any news about the source of the email but Ohio State University’s statement read that the public safety forces of the college have checked the “affected buildings” to ensure the safety of the students.
