Four al-Qaeda in Iraq members arrested in Mosul
May 8th, 2010 - 5:09 am ICT by BNO NewsBAGHDAD (BNO NEWS) – Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) arrested four suspected Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) members on Thursday, U.S. Forces in Iraq said Friday.
During a joint security operation conducted in east Mosul Thursday, ISF and U.S. advisors searched a building for a suspected AQI member who is an alleged extortion leader for eastern Mosul.
Iraqi forces were subsequently able to identify and arrest four criminal associates of the warranted AQI member with the gathered information and evidence from the scene.
Iraqi and U.S. forces conduct joint operations in accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government to target terrorists seeking to disrupt the security and stability of Iraq.
