Fort Hood shooting victims out of surgery

Major Nidal Malik Hasan Fort Hood, Nov 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The injured victims of the Fort Hood Massacre were taken to the Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. Most of them had surgeries to fix up their injuries. According to latest reports, all the 10 victims are now out of surgery. There is no word yet on their conditions.

Some of the victims were shot multiple times, and out of the 10 injured victims, 6 were in critical state and were taken straight to the ICU for treatment and monitoring.

The hospital where the injured are being treated is in desperate need for blood. Volunteers are being requested to come forward and help them out in this endeavor. Blood collection drives are also being organized. The Local Red Cross blood drives is from 9 am to 5 pm at the address, 208 W. Avenue A & Waco. There is another blood collection drive today from 8 am to 8 pm at the address, 4224 Cobbs Drive

Lt. Col. Jeffrey W. Pearce, 89th MP Brigade in Baghdad said that, “prayers and thoughts go out to the entire Ft Hood and CenTx community” Gen. George Casey, chief of staff, and new secretary of the Army John McHugh and US Rep John Carter, R-TX are en-route and are expected to be at Fort Hood at 11 a.m.

Internal shooting at a place that the soldiers call ‘home’ has shaken many. “I’m pretty shocked and bewildered,” Spc. Eric Blohm said, “Going to war and experiencing combat overseas and then … to have your sense of security shattered, that’s just kind of unreal.” “I thought I was more worried about my daughter going over to Iraq than here, just doing training in Texas. She just got there yesterday,” said McCarty, mother of a solider.
