Fort Dodge, Iowa man sentenced on meth and gun possession charges

SIOUX CITY, IOWA (BNO NEWS) – A Fort Dodge, Iowa man was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for being a felon in possession of firearms and conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, prosecutors announced on Friday.

Matthew Brockway, 30, was previously convicted of three felony drug offenses in Iowa. Brockway admitted his participation in an operation to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine in the Fort Dodge area from 2006 to May 2008.

During his involvement in the conspiracy, 1.5 kilograms of meth were manufactured. Brockway manufactured meth at least 50 times obtaining half ounce each time. In addition, he regularly distributed methamphetamine to several Fort Dodge users.

On November 16, 2007, Brockway was arrested while attempting to elude officers in a car chase. He was in possession of three firearms at the moment of his detention.
