FORT DODGE, IOWA (BNO NEWS) – An Iowa man was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing an illegal substance, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Michael Ackerson, 31, from Fort Dodge, Iowa, admitted he participated in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, but he had been previously convicted of delivery of methamphetamine on October 29, 2001, in Webster County, Iowa, District Court, which was reason for lengthy sentence.

Ackerson pleaded guilty on February 12 and was sentenced to 170 months imprisonment - more than 14 years - followed by a 10-year term of supervised release. He was also imposed with an assessment of $100.
