Apr 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jennifer Sanford, the former First Lady of South Carolina, whose marriage with Governor Mark Sanford came to an end only a few weeks ago in the month of March, is reportedly dating Clay Boardman, a businessman from Georgia. Jennifer Sanford’s assistant Meg Milne issued a statement yesterday which says that the couple met at the College of Charleston where Jennifer Sanford had gone to deliver a speech.

Their first meeting in the month of March was followed by a “walk on the beach”, few dinners, drives and a trip to the Masters at Augusta and since then the two have been together, says the report. Jenny Sanford shot to the limelight when her husband, Mark Sanford, Governor of South Carolina disappeared for 6 days in June last year, and admitted on returning to having an extramarital affair with an Argentine woman. She soon filed for divorce and was granted one in the month of March this year. Jenny Sanford released her book “Staying True”, a memoir in which she describes the effect her husband’s acts had on her life, later admitting that she would be open to dating again.

Clay Boardman is described by many as one of the most influential citizens of Georgia. He is the owner and president of a real estate firm and also has a vacation home at Sullivan’s Island, where Jenny Sanford too has a home. The two have been spotted together many times. The couple, according to reports, are not in a hurry to take any decision. Both have reportedly added that it has been just few weeks since they first met and so would like to take things slowly.
