NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT (BNO NEWS) — The SUV transporting former U.S. President Bill Clinton was involved in a traffic accident in New Haven, Connecticut on Sunday, local media reported.

The accident happened on the Merritt Parkway while the former President was being transported to Yale University to deliver a commencement address.

“It was one of those deals where everybody in the passing lane slowed down, and we all slowed down, and one person didn’t. It happened to be the person behind us,” Clinton told Fox 61. “It was just a fluke, we’re fine.”

Clinton arrived at Yale University on time and delivered his address as scheduled.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Bill Clinton served as 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, when he was succeeded by former President George W. Bush.
