Former President Bill Clinton raffles himself to pay for wife’s debts
May 14th, 2010 - 1:38 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattWashington DC, May 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former US President Bill Clinton is doing his best to get rid of his wife Hillary Clinton’s debts. Apparently the current Secretary of State ran up mounting bills when she was campaigning for her White House bid. According to reports she still owes $771,000 in debts, which need to be cleared up. She had unsuccessfully participated in the 2008 Presidential elections, in which the eventual winner was the current President of US – Barack Obama.
So now Bill Clinton has stepped in, and he is going to raffle himself in order to clear up the debts. He sent an email to Hillary Clinton’s supporters, in which he offered them a chance to spend a day with him, in return for some donations, which would be used to pay up the mounting debts of his wife.
The email says that, “How would you like the chance to come up to New York and spend a day with me? Hillary’s campaign still has a few vestiges of debt that I know she would like to see paid in full. Will you reach out today to help Hillary this one last time? If you enter between now and May 18th, you might join me for a day in New York.”
