MIAMI (BNO NEWS) – Former fugitives sentenced in Florida for possessing more than 3,000 stolen credit card numbers, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Octavio Delemos, 26, Ruddy Perez-Espinal, 25, formerly of Miami-Dade County, and Alfredo Dalmau were manufacturing counterfeit credit cards at a Medley, FL, home where all three resided.

Law enforcement agents witnessed a group of armed home invaders, pretending to be police officers, and break-in the Medley residence while they were obtaining a search warrant. The invaders continued by beating the people inside, tying them up, and attempt to steal the proceeds from credit card fraud.

The agents acted quickly and arrested the home invaders, securing a search warrant, and arrested Delemos, Perez-Espinal and Dalmau for credit card fraud.

Inside the residence, agents found evidence of their counterfeit credit card manufacturing operation, having blank plastic cards, tipping foil to create the magnetic strips, partially manufactured fake credit cards, and laptop computers that contained more than 3,000 stolen credit card numbers.

In May 2008, the three men fled to the Domincan Republic where Delemos and Perez-Espinal were arrested, but Dalmau remains a fugitive and is suspected to be currently living in the that country.

Delemos was sentenced to 48 months’ imprisonment and Perez-Espinal to 64 months, as both will serve a three year term of supervised release following their prison term. They were also ordered to pay $171,562 in restitution.
