bob1 Reykjavik, July 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The chess icon Bobby Fischer has been dead for more than two years, and was resting in peace without any disturbance until recently. A judge has signed orders to exhume the body of the chess champ from his grave in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Fischer went into exile in the European country after a warrant was issued for his arrest in 1992. He was reported to be wanted for dealing with Yugoslavia, which had been hit with economic sanctions by the United States at that time.

The exhumation became necessary when a Filipino woman, Marilyn Young filed a claim in court alleging that Fischer was the father of her nine-year old daughter - Jinky Young of the Philippines. The former chess champion died without leaving a will and there are many others who claim that they are the rightful heirs of the fortune of the dead American.

Bobby is said to be worth $2 million and the people who want a pie of his fortune include Miyoko Watai (head of the Japanese Chess Association) who claims to have married the American in 2004 and his nephews, Alex and Nicholas Targ.

Marilyn provided pictures of her daughter - Jinky and Fischer together, and also the postcards that Fischer had allegedly sent to Jinky signed “Daddy”. She also showed evidence of Fischer giving her money for Jinky in 2006 and 2007.
