London, Nov 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) British authorities say due to concerns of a possible terrorist attack, all foreigners have been banned from visiting the famous Big Ben tower. Authorities considered screening all foreigners who might want to visit the famous tower with the clock but realized it might be too costly to implement it.

The new measure means that only British nationals are allowed to visit the tower and they can only do that if they apply through their sitting MP. The application should be done in writing and if it is approved, the permission will be permitted to visit the tower. The famous clock at the top of the tower which is called “The Great Clock” is considered the most accurate time in the world.

The new measures means that moving to the tower will take similar checks that going through airport security requires. Visitors are required to pass through a metal detector and their face photograph snapped by a camera before they are escorted by an officer.

The new measure will mean British citizens will have to wait for between 3 to 6 months before they can visit the tower. That means planned visits should not be included in recent plans.
