July 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American automaker Ford Motor Co. has unveiled its 2011 Ford Explorer today which is likely to take the automobile industry by storm. The new fuel-efficient SUV is lighter than its older versions and is not built on the base of the truck rather on a car-derived platform. The car company has revealed that although Ford Explorer would retain much of the earlier truck-based vehicles capabilities, the fuel economy in it would be 20 to 30 per cent better.

Auto information experts have emphasized that the Ford Explorer would be a major step for the American automaker owing to the escalated degree of competition and the increased consciousness among the customers regarding price as well as fuel economy. Auto industry analysts have also reiterated that the revised version of SUV would be a significant vehicle for Ford as it is much smoother and refined compared to the previous editions. Company officials have stated that the new Ford Explorer is going to have less towing capacity compared to the older edition and at the same time, would not be offering a V-8 engine. The car who was initially launched in the United States as the mainstream SUV about two decades earlier, would be available for dealerships in winter.
