fgalFeb 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a rather bizarre turn of events, defensive end Floyd Raven’s mother forged her son’s signature on a letter of intent to Ole Miss in her desperate bid to see her soon playing for the University of Mississippi’s football team. The Reserve’s East St. John High School cornerback had made up his mind to join the Texas A&M next year, but his mother wanted her son to join Ole Miss and thus ended up forging his letter of intent.

However, after the University of Mississippi’s football team coach Houston Nutt realized that the signature on the letter of intent that was sent to the college was forged, he cleared out the matter with the media although he refused to go into details about the incident. While talking to media outlets on Wednesday, the Rebels coach said that Floyd Raven’s mother ‘wanted him here in the worst way. Let’s leave it at that.’ Coach Houston Nutt also went on to add that although they received a signature, they intend to include players ‘who really want to be here.’

Meanwhile, the Reserve, La. native has also confirmed that his mother had forged his signature on the letter of intent that was sent to the University of Mississippi in a news conference on Wednesday. While talking to reporters, Floyd Raven said that his mother did so as she thought she was helping him out and had sent the letter while he was not present at home. The young player also added that he had not told her, his intentions of joining Texas A&M which led to all the confusion.
