images13Feb 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) One more calamity occurred at Mont Belvieu’s Enterprise Products petrochemical plant after a fire broke out due to a pipeline explosion on Tuesday. Panic seized the nearby dwellers after the explosion occurring 40 kilometers east of the city of Houston wreaked havoc with its aftermath. Sources have reported that the fire still continues to burn at the petrochemical plant and Enterprise Products authorities are thinking of letting the fire burn itself out instead of trying to combat the fire.

Enterprise Products company spokesperson Rick Rainey divulged to the media sources that one person is missing ever since the explosion took place. The Texas based petrochemical plant’s spokesperson also added that the company is also trying to look for some of the contractors. Amidst the news of the blast, fortunately there has been no report of any death. In fact it is being said that even after two hours of the explosion there has been no reports of any person being injured, as reported by Chamber County Judge Jimmy Sylvia. The Enterprise Products petrochemical plant is situated on the top of a salt dome where a massive amount of natural gas liquids are stored, and produces products from those liquids while operating a pipeline from the plant at the same time.

The authorities have reported that no toxic element is burning at the Mont Belvieu petroleum plant. Only a segment of the natural gas plant is burning due to the pipeline blast. Eyewitnesses have claimed that the flame that arose out of the fire sent giant orange balls in the air along with thick layers of black smoke. Although no operating equipment has been damaged, the gas pipeline will be shut down as announced by the company.
