First Lady Michelle Obama Hosts Mothers Day Tea Event In White House

mothersWashington, May 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As people across the world geared up celebrate the importance of mother in their lives through Mother’s Day, United States First Lady Michelle Obama was not left far behind. On Friday, the East Room of the White House was the venue for the Mother’s Day Tea event which witnessed the presence of the First lady’s mother Marian Robinson while a number of other noted personalities also graced the event

The Mother’s day celebration at the White House was indeed a very special occasion for Michelle Obama who paid an emotional tribute to her mother Marian Robinson while reiterating her importance in her life. The United States first lady described her mother as a ‘rock’ who had stood by her through thick and thin while helping her to overcome some of the most difficult moments of her life. Michelle Obama emphasized that her mother inspired her to be the best woman as a professional, a mother as well as a friend. At the same time, the first lady was visibly emotional when she was talking about the kind of relationship that she shared with her mother, who stays with the Obamas at the White House. The event also witnessed Michelle Obama reveal that the experience of having her mother in the White House to raise her two daughters, was a beautiful experience.

In the meanwhile, the event was also attended by 131 women which included former first lady Rosalynn Carter as well as Tricia Nixon Cox who is the daughter of late United States President Richard Nixon.
