Fire Engulfs Historic Estes Park Mall

Estes Park, October 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Estes Park, which is one of the historic landmarks of the country has been damaged in fire. As stated by the fire officials there were no death reports in the fire as of yet.
Sources reported that the Police Department of the Estes Park had evacuated the place after the reports of fire came to them. Electric service for the region was also suspended to check damages.
Police Dispatch of the Estes Park had received the report of fire at 6:19 a.m Monday. The fire department of the region was also informed immediately which helped in restricting the fire to the mall. There could have been several fatalities if the fire would have spread to the neighboring premises. As stated by the sources, to control the fire inside mall, the fire fighters had to break the roof on the western side of the mall.
The mall which was set on fire was the working place for seven businesses. It was constructed in the year 1914 as a livery and carriage house. Though in the recent past, the building was turned to mall yet there were no fire fighting equipment. As stated by the sources, the building did not have any kind of sprinkler systems or fire alarms. It was also stated by the sources that the fire fighters had to use snorkel apparatus, aerials and trucks to fight the fire in the mall.
The news of fire had shocked everyone especially the people of that region. Yet they were little relieved as the fire had not claimed the life of anyone. Jenna MacGregor, daughter of Park Theater Mall’s owner said,” God was watching over us; it could have been so much worse.”
