Federal Offices Observe Columbus Day Closing On Monday

Oct 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Most of the offices in different parts of the country in America will remain closed on 12th October, Monday for celebrating the Columbus Day. In the year 1492, it was on this day that Christopher Columbus came to America. Every year, the people of USA celebrate this day with great joy.
People will not get services from the offices that observes the Columbus Day Closing. Federal offices in the country will observe a holiday while the State offices will remain open. County offices in Williamson, Travis, Hays, Caldwell and Burnet will function like any other day while Llano and Bastrop offices will have holiday. Excepting Llano city, the other offices will mostly have a working day.
Banks will be closed on this day. People will also not get loan or savings facility on Columbus Day. South-western University and Texas’ Concordia University is having their fall vacation. Students of these universities will have holiday but other Universities will have their regular classes. Most of the schools will remain closed on Monday. Students of Taylor will have class but they would be released earlier than the other days.
There will not be any mail services in the country today as the post offices will remain closed. However, people can receive the express mail as it would be delivered.
Libraries at Westbank, Llano, Lakeshore, Kyle, Kingsland, Florence and The Buda will have a holiday on 12th October. Many of the services will not be available on Monday. Garbage collection will work on Monday and so the roads will be cleaned like any other day. Apart from USA, Venezuele, Spain, The Bahamas, Costa Rica and Uruguay also celebrates this day.
