New York, Jun 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The President of United States last week told the world in Canada that he was bent to “reset” the relationship between America and Russia. That reset might be in danger, because of the arrest of alleged Russian espionage.

The FBI rounded up ten Russians, who they say are spying for the Kremlin in the United States. The men were arrested after the FBI intercepted a coded message from Moscow to two of the ten arrested men. The message contained the mission of the two people in Russian. The men are believed to be working for the powerful Russian intelligence service.

According to the FBI, the intercepted message asked the alleged spies to gather intelligent information in the US about nuclear weapons, Iran, US arms control, American politics and others.

They appeared before a federal court in Manhattan on Monday, and the defendants have been charged with conspiracy, to act as a foreign country’s agent without notifying American authorities. If the charges are proven, the defendants could spend a maximum of five years in jail.

Nine of those arrested have also been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering. That charge also comes with a maximum of 20 years in jail, if it is proven.
