Famous designer Yves Saint Laurent dies

World renowned designed Yves Saint Laurent is dead. YSL died on Sunday 11 p.m. (5 p.m. ET) in his home in Paris France aged 71. Laurent was considered a French hero after decades of his line made French wear a world classic. He is the last man in the era of famous and popular designer who include Christian Dior and Coco Chanel all whom he worked with in the 70’s. The Sunday death of the “le Smoking” jacket designer left the fashion world very downbeat.

Yves Saint Laurent was famous for his glamorous Paris catwalk and the elegance of his haute couture. YSL death is a blow to Paris which he dominated Paris in the 1960s and 1970s with his masculine, yet elegant, trouser suits for women. The news of YSL death was sad news to the French and the fashion and design world. YSL dies to leave behind the popular tight pants, the trapeze dress, smocks, thigh-high boots and tuxedo jackets. Yves Saint Laurent used ethnic themes in his designs, as well as bright colors contrasted with black.
