June 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The internet has made lives easier for a lot of people but it has also exposed the kids and teenagers to the sexual predators.
The pedophiles and sexual offenders often take the online route to target unsuspecting kids and young people. There is a new website to protect people from sexual offenders and its name is Family watchdog.
These sites warn the users of several types of online sexual crimes and also offer advice about how the sexual predators dupe people into falling in their traps. There are some people who target women in general online while a section is out there to molest children.
The site has a forum online where the users can log in and share their experiences about online cyber crime. The site also offers tips regarding how one can keep harmful malware and software away from their PCs which open gateways to internet porn sites.
The information offered by the site is also beneficial for avoiding identity thefts. The list of registered sex offenders provided by this site is indeed handy for getting rid of the malicious people in the vicinity.
The website came into spotlight recently after it was featured in the famous ‘Oprah Winfrey Show’. Steve Roddel founded this site after he was moved by the murder of Jessica Lunsford that took place 5 years back. The site is quite user friendly and the users will find accessing relevant information a cakewalk.
The aim of its founder is to bring down cases of child molestation and sexual assault as much as possible. It is the only website dealing with sexual offense to be shown in the ‘Oprah Winfrey Show.’
